New patients

We know joining a new dental practice can feel uncertain. Our job is to listen, assess carefully, explain clearly and make the next step easy to understand.

WELCOME TO ICONIC SMILES

Care starts with listening.

We take time to understand your concerns, what you want from your care and anything that makes dentistry difficult for you. Our aim is that you feel respected, informed and looked after from the first appointment.

  • New private patients are welcome
  • Selected NHS availability is subject to practice capacity
  • Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel
YOUR FIRST VISIT

A proper assessment, not a rushed check.

Your first appointment is designed to build a complete picture of your oral health and establish what, if anything, needs attention.

  • Head, neck, muscles and glands
  • Soft tissues of the mouth
  • Gum health
  • Jaw joints and bite
  • Teeth and existing restorations
  • Routine oral cancer screening
  • X-rays where clinically indicated
  • Clinical photographs where useful
NERVOUS PATIENTS

We can slow the pace down.

If you are anxious, tell us before or during your appointment. We can structure care more gradually and explain each stage. Suitable patients may also be referred to the sedation service at Cheshunt.

NHS & PRIVATE CARE

Clear about availability.

Existing NHS patients should normally use their recall link or contact the practice they attend. NHS capacity is finite and new-patient availability can change. New child NHS appointments may be available subject to demand. Private appointments and high-value treatment plans can also be discussed with the team.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Useful answers before you decide.

What happens if I have not attended for more than two years?+

NHS England does not operate dental “registration” in the old sense. If you have not attended for an extended period, please contact the practice so the team can advise on current NHS availability.

Do you see nervous patients?+

Yes. Tell the team when booking so we can help make the appointment more manageable.

Can I spread the cost of private treatment?+

Finance or payment options may be available for eligible private treatment. The team can explain the current options.
