what treatments are used for a smile makeover?
TOOTH CONTOURING
Tooth contouring involves careful adjustment to your teeth to create better shapes and sizes to enhance your smile.
This is a minimally invasive procedure and normally involves the removal of a few millimetres of your teeth. This is a very straightforward yet effective way to even your smile without committing to extensive restorative treatment.
GUM CONTOURING
If you have an uneven or low gum line, often described as a “gummy smile”, gum contouring can transform your smile and help create the perfect smile. Gum contouring reshapes the gum and then enables us to restore the natural proportions of your teeth. Each patient’s case is different and your dentist can advise you whether you would require simple soft tissue sculpting or, if you are a more severe case, it may involve a surgical procedure.
TOOTH WHITENING
Tooth whitening can be an effect and minimally invasive way to change your smile.
TEETH STRAIGHTENING
Orthodontics is a highly effective and minimally invasive way to transform your smile.
VENEERS
For patients that would like a full smile makeover, veneers are the most effective and immediate way to transform your smile.
IMPLANTS
Implants are a highly effective way to replace missing teeth.
what is involved in the smile makeover procedure?
The procedure is divided into four stages:
Stage One - Consultation:
You will book in for a consultation with one of our highly skilled cosmetic dentists. During the consultation you will be able to discuss your concerns in detail with your dentist.
They will then assess what the issues are and discuss the treatment options available with you.
Stage Three – Trial smile
Once your diagnostic wax-up has been created and you are happy with the proposed changes, we will prepare your teeth and fit your trial smile. Cosmetic dentistry is a precise art that requires exceptionally skilled dentists and technicians to create a natural smile that suits your appearance – new smiles are certainly not a one size fits all. We will discuss any concerns you have about the new appearance of your teeth and adjust any imperfections.
Stage Two – Diagnostic wax-up
Your dentist will create a diagnostic wax-up of your teeth.
This is a custom made model of the proposed changes needed to be made to your teeth in order to achieve the perfect solution.
Stage Four – Final restoration
Once you and your dentist are completely happy with the appearance of your trial smile, this will be replicated and precisely made into beautifully, natural porcelain teeth. These will then be bonded onto your teeth permanently to create an amazing, natural smile that you can be proud of.
some useful information
Will I have any discomfort throughout the process?
Not normally. However, some patients find they may have some sensitivity for a period of time after the restorations have been fitted, this should settle down within a few days.
How much does Smile Makeover cost?
Smile Makeover is a bespoke dental treatment, and treatment types can vary greatly. For this reason, it is very difficult to be able to quote a fixed price. A cosmetic consultation is £30.00, and during this appointment, our dentists will be able to give you an indication of the costs involved.
